You enter the Curtin. On stage are four people playing instruments. Their names are Naomi, Gus, Darren and Marcus, and they are Sydney’s most Nicole Kidman-coded, reverbed-out “punk” band, Perfect Actress. Having released a self-titled EP and played countless shows in their hometown, Perfect Actress is excited to return south for the first time since 2023. While diva worship is front and centre of Perfect Actress’ mission, their musical pedigree goes far and wide, featuring past and present members from bands as diverse as BV, Carnations, Collarbones, New Age Group, and World’s Only. Joining them from their shared sunnier city is California Girls, the electro-punk gay-boy who is launching his doom-ridden new single “Hard Core”. An afternoon to remember!
