RUBY GILL (FULL BAND) SINGLE LAUNCH

South Africa-born, Australia-based musician Ruby Gill returns with a brand new single 'Carol / not carol', out everywhere on 19th August. This show at the Curtin is a rare chance to see the beloved queer poet with a full band live in action, playing all the songs you love as well as teasing the launch of a new era, shared movingly and powerfully with her Naarm/Melbourne home community before anyone else. Ruby’s tender, strange, and delightfully ungovernable “lyrical wizardry” is beloved by everyone from triple j and Double J, to BBC and KCRW over the pond. She’s sold-out tours in Australia, South Africa and the UK/EU, and been named by Rolling Stone, NME, CLASH, The Guardian and The Independent as some of Australia’s best music, with two Australian Music Prize nominations to her name and Best Country Album at the recent Australian Independent Record Awards.
